The guards in red add such an amazing visual flare to this scene. Red against the white stormtroopers and the shiny black surface. Genius visuals.

I recall seeing this in the theater as a kid and almost freaking out when the walker's foot narrowly missed Luke. It looked like it was coming out of the screen and was going to crush the audience.
As a kid you could have never convinced me that Ian was only 38 when this was shot.
A good live COMIC BOOK SCI-FI film as opposed to a good film. Lots of special effects, costumes, aliens, sophomoric dialog and cardboard acting. Great, daring film in its time. Great film for sci-fi lovers who will watch anything sci-fi because it had a tremendous budget and didn't skimp on production values.
Boring to a mature viewer who enjoys other genres as well as sci-fi. Overly violent, illogically sequenced; this is the weak link in the Star Wars saga.

ESB provides all the drama I assume that star wars provided across the board but never achieves if ESB didn't exist then just maybe Star wars won't be the iconic series that it is today. Put subtitles on when the Emperor says, There is a great disturbance in the Force. XD (It subtitles say, Danny's great this the Germans in the homes. #TheEmperorHasSpoken.
Darth Vader was fully aware that Sidious was planning to kick him to the curb and for Vader's son Luke to replace him. Vader was nothing more than a pawn Sidious used to do his dirty work and then chucked away when he was not useful anymore. Both Vader and Sidious saw this as an opportunity to throw each other to the curb by turning Luke to the dark side. I will watch your channel with great interest. I really hope you enjoy these and you will have to watch the Mandalorian when you finish Ep 1-6.
Just learned “Empires” original reviews were mostly negative. Im still in shock. It only proves Star Wars greatness is in the individual emotional connections Lucas creates. And so began Darth Vader's redemption. Once he learned that he had a son, he knew he had another purpose in life, aside from simply serving his master. After destroying the Death Star, the heroes set off into another adventure where the try to destroy the empire created by the menacing Dart Vader(David Prowse. When Luke Skywalker is on Planet Hoth, it would quite resemble Antartica in a way. The Tauntauns are the fine animals that would endure the harsh cold there. And the Wampas are so fierce they would catch any victim off guard. Luke Jedi instincts paid off against the Wampa. I liked th part where Chewbacca(Peter Mayhew) snickers at Han Solo(Harrison Ford) where Princess Leia Organa(Carrie Fisher) tells him off. There were a lot more characters in the movie, too long to list, but I know that in the swamp scene, where Yoda teaches Luke more about the Force. And getting that X-wing fighter jet out of the swamp needed more work. Then there's the battle between Vader and Skywalker. That fight scene would take the storyline further and further to the truth of Anakin Skywalker; Luke's father! This movie has a lot to show, and it's just as fun as the fourth one. Which I thought was the first. Still, I enjoyed this all the way through. 5 Stars.
